Pea discovers Lunacy Boutique

I have a desire (bordering on obsession) for any jewellery of a quirky, unusual or downright crazy-person-only nature. It all started with Tatty Devine (curses to your ever increasing prices) and has spiralled out of control from there.

Anyway, I recently discovered Lunacy Boutique and as a result, the list of things I'm currently coveting grew by at least 100% in under ten minutes.

Firstly this rather flump-tastic little number caught my greedy, green eye...

Having had a mad obsession with flumps since, well forever really, this instantly sent my little brain into an overdrive of excitement. Although Badger isn't entirely sure I should be allowed something this tempting (fears of a trip to A&E after the 'pretend' flumps are inevitably consumed springing instantly to mind).

Probably getting me even more in a tizz then the flumpy goodness of bracelets, however, is the absurd loveliness of the 'custard cream pearls'. The fact I don't even really like custard creams is, seemingly, of no consequence. This is quirky jewellery at its charming best and will be firmly in number one place on the top of my Christmas list...

Despitemy obsession with all things edible, Lunacy Boutique do sell other jewellery lovelies (and not just jewellery either, clothes, make up, bags and more...) including some very sweet wooden creations (like this cute Russian doll ring) and more Tatty Devine-esque acrylicy things.

Whilst investigating the other things on offer (all in the name of blogging of course) I stumbled across a rather exciting (and much reduced) skirt.

Buttony-goodess, retro fabric and browness - what's not to love?

Boots and Pom Poms

Now that we’re well into the swing of autumn it seems a fitting time to start thinking of nice warm, snugly things!

The first thing on my winter wish list is this completely ridiculous pom pom scarf from Accessorize.
http://www.monsoon.co.uk/knitted-scarves/pom-pom-scarf/invt/78794288/
I honestly think this is rather silly, but at the same time I really, really, really want one. It comes in a two different jolly colour combinations (the one pictured above is the jolliest and my personal favourite), is very soft (I’ve been into the Witney Accessorize to stroke it lovingly many times since I spotted it). And well, it's a scarf made entirely of pom poms – how could it not make you smile?

Probably a more practical buy that the aforementioned scarf, but no less desireable, are these boots from ASOS.

Having no sensible winter shoes what-so-ever is causing me some serious trauma now the wet and cold weather is upon us (my worn out, holey pumps just aren’t cutting it) and I really am in urgent need of some new shoes, so I spotted these with great excitement. They're real leather and come in brown or black (Oh! Decisions, decisions!). They clock in at £65, which personally I don't think is bad value for a good pair of boots.

I like birds...

...I really do... and not just big honking ones like geese, but also little twiggy-legged, sparkly-eyed, tweeting ones like finches, sparrows and wrens (especially wrens).

Thus I was very excited when I found the following little gems from the Juno Design Shop.

Firstly the most adorable way to never lose my keys again...

For someone as scatty as me when it comes to keys (Badger will testify to this) I need novelty to help learn to look after them (a bit like a child) and I think this might actually do the trick. I can only imagine the glee I would take in placing birdie bill back safely in his house every day.

My second birdy find is this insanely cute and quirky wall sticker, depicting a bright-as-a-button bird listening to his iPod Nano (one would assume that would be the mp3 player of choice for such a diminutive feathered friend).

What I love most about this is the detail, especially the way his headphone wires disappear into a little pocket on his chest and just how big his headphones look on his tiny little head, he just looks so cool - I wonder what he's listening to? He really is just too adorable and I want it to stick him my living room wall ASAP!

Tweet tweet for now!

Pure. Unfaltering. Desire.

Credit to the lovely Badger for showing me this... and I mean all possible credit, because he would have know when he did so, that my reaction would be pure unfaltering desire...

Up until today, I didn't know that such things existed, but believe me my life has taken on a new and better meaning since I became aware. Honestly, the person who came up with this needs all sorts of honours and praise bestowed upon them - a crown, a sceptre, a knighthood possibly.

I want the goose and I want, most of all, to dress it up in the pumpkin outfit (it is autumn now after all).

Oh goodness me! I want that goose!

Ugly House in the Cotswolds

Pea and Badger are currently renovating a 1870s terraced cottage in the Cotswolds. Oh, it sounds idyllic BUT...
The cottage with attacked by architects in the 1970s, the result being that it looks like a 1870s cottage (if you peer really, really hard) wearing 1970s armour (stone cladding, uPVC windows, garden wall made of concrete ‘screen blocks’). It’s like a very pretty foot in a statement shoe, but less fashionable. It also doesn’t really help that some kindly person painted the little house the colour of poo, in a row of creamy-coloured terraces no less. The cruelty! The other houses pick on him. Not to mention his tatty garden and missing guttering.

His insides were, and mostly still are, a terrifying monstrosity of dark of orangely-stained wood and pine dado panelling, badly put up wallpaper, frankly absurd fittings (most notably shelves and light-switches feet above head height) and years of imbedded grime from mucky rental tenants. Poor house! We called him Ugly House but it made him cry, we felt sad and took pity on him.

He's been ours since Christmas 2009 and we’re slowly making him better!
Peas and badgers, cups and spoons, pretty things that I like, pretty things that you might like too, llamas that makeme smile, the life of pea and the life of badger and possibly a few posts about lipstick!
